Joe’s coaching style blends championship standards with a passion for mentoring young players. Joe’s career spans an amazing run at Archbishop Moeller High School followed by filming sports and finally by coaching middle school girls. Joe’s aim is to eventually earn a spot on a boys varsity or college staff. And ultimately to become a head basketball coach.

prior to 2016
Joe began playing basketball in 3rd grade. He played for his elementary school team.
Joe began attending Archbishop Moeller High School in Cincinnati, where he tried out for the basketball team but was heartbreakingly cut. Instead he became a student coach, a respected position on the team. Joe assisted with all practices and filmed and edited all games.

2018-2019 season
This was a historic perfect season for Moeller. They finished 29-0 overall, going undefeated including 6-0 in the GCL South. They won the Division I state championship again, defeating Akron St. Vincent-St. Mary 52-44 in the final to cap the unbeaten campaign. This marked back-to-back state titles, their fifth overall, and they were the No. 1 ranked team nationally in some polls at points, with AP Poll state championship honors.
During this season Joe was the head Student Coach and lead all practice and game activities. His mentor was Jai Schiavone and together they lead a well oiled machine.

2016-2017 season
The Moeller Crusaders had a strong rebound season following a regional semifinal exit the prior year. They achieved a solid overall record of 28-1.They claimed the AP Poll state championship recognition. However they lost by one point in the OHSAA state championship game. This season marked the start of a highly successful run for both Moeller and Joe contributing to a 110-5 record over the subsequent years starting here
2019-2020 season
The Crusaders continued their dominance with a near-perfect record of 26-1 overall (undefeated in conference at 6-0). They won their third straight AP Poll state championship recognition. The season was cut short by the COVID-19 pandemic, which canceled the OHSAA state tournament before it could fully conclude (no state champion was crowned in Division I that year due to the shutdown). Despite the abrupt end, Moeller was nationally ranked (e.g., No. 28 in final MaxPreps Top 25) and maintained an elite level throughout.

2017-2018 season
Moeller had an excellent year, finishing with a strong 27-3 record. They went undefeated in conference play lead by now NBA players Jaxson Hayes and Miles McBride. Jeremiah Davenport (UC Bearcat) contributed greatly. Moeller was the top-ranked team in Division I. In the OHSAA state tournament, the Crusaders captured the Division I state championship, defeating Solon 83-65 in the final. This was their fourth boys basketball state title overall (following earlier ones in 1999, 2003, and 2007), and they were recognized as AP Poll state champions.
